Frog and Toad

Didn't you just LOVE Frog and Toad when you were young? Disneyland even had a ride called "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride". I remember being so stoked to be on that ride, as it made me feel that I was in the book. Last night after tucking the girls into bed and thinking they were fast asleep, we discovered them curled in the same bed, flashlights blazing. Liv was the reader, Holland the captive audience. It was so sweet. I love it that Liv can read Holland stories now! She will be such a great help with our new baby, too!

For more Frog and Toad fun check out this song by The Bad Plus. They even write in their liner notes that it is a tribute to the books. It's good for questions for the kids like: "What do you think they're doing now?" and such.

You can probably find a copy of the CD somewhere (cough!)library(cough!)

Jen!!!! I think the "toad" on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (I am from Cali, chick) is the Mr. Toad from Wind in the Willows!

I could be wrong but I am pretty positive.

I love Frog and Toad though. I taught it the tail end of last year with my first graders at co-op. They are hilarious stories. Have you read Owl at Home by the same dude? So stinking funny...
