Birthday Weekend

Last Friday was Brian's birthday, which means we are, after 5 days of disequilibrium, once again the same age. That means, for me, no more having to endure "over the hill" jokes, no more reminders that I am "the older woman." I can now live in peace. For his birthday, we went to the Shakespeare Fest. to watch Into The Woods, a musical meant to warn you to watch what you wish for. Pretty appropriate on a birthday, I think. You know, with all the making wishes and blowing out candles and all that. Before we left, we had to stop by Hawk's Stadium so that Bri could wrap some hands of the fighters fighting that night. After he was done, we picked up some sushi and picnicked at the festival. It was a great night. The next morning, we left early for Seattle! We watched the Torchlight Parade our first night there. This guy's coat stared at me the whole night. I just had to take a picture of it. The Shining's a pretty creepy flick.....so is this guys' jacket. What was he thinking...?

Of course, we had to take a pic of ourselves enjoying the parade, just to prove that we were there.

We stayed in Capital Hill the first 2 nights at a bed and breakfast. It was such an amazing home....owned by art collectors. The home was built in the early 1900's and they had every inch of the walls covered by art. There was even art propped up along the floorboards. I loved it...very eclectic and beautiful. We were served old-fashioned oatmeal each morning, topped with fresh blueberries, a huge bowl of fresh watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe, lottsa coffee, and apple turnovers. Delish. The home was very charming. This pic was taken outside the bathroom window, overlooking the grapevines on the porch.
