Free

I said, We'll be the kings of the world
and she said, no
we'll be the queen and the princess of the world
and she grasped my hoisting hand and we
crunched bark as we rose up the dangly
legs of the climbing tree which hovered over wet
and we pressed our faces to the breeze
up high to the sky and raised our arms.
I said, "I'm the queen of the world!"
she said, "I'm the princess of the world!"
and we felt it, the freeing of the ropes and
for a moment we had nothing to do but be together
and the heaviness of the day before lay in a heap
and we left it there, at the base
of the rushing waves and hoped to start anew.
And the echo of the chirps fluttering in the air
agreed and we smiled and it was right.

Thanks Jen! I feel like I'm just starting to find my voice, so to speak, so that is so encouraging! God Bless your weekend!

Beautiful!!!

I needed this today- this was a heavy day for us, this made me want to try for light and free tomorrow.

You have such a beautiful way with words! Thanks, J! : )

Wow Jen! That's incredible. It reminds me of Virginia Woolf...but the content is much more enjoyable! I love the way your words stir my emotions. I experience them, instead of just reading them.

to comment seems trite. So beautiful, so stirring to just enjoy the moments we have with these growing souls.
